Gary Wilson School Director
Gary Wilson's involvement in Christian education began in 1995 as the director of Loess Hills Christian School. He is a graduate of Benson High School in Omaha, NE. Mr. Wilson and his wife, Kim, have 3 grown children. His love for the Lord and the students of Heartland Christian School drive his vision and desire to see a quality Christian education provided in the Council Bluffs area.

Carolyn Parton Secondary Assistant and Teacher
Mrs. Carolyn Parton has lived in Council Bluffs for 18 years, serving as co-pastor with her husband at Victory Fellowship. Her involvement in Christian Education began with Victory Christian School and has continued with Heartland Christian School. Mrs. Parton has 12 years of experience in Christian Education. Mrs. Parton manages many aspects of the Junior High and High School. She also teaches several classes at the Secondary level including Bible, History, Government, Study Skills, Home Economics, and Worship Arts.

Kim Wilson Office Manager and Fundraising Coordinator
Mrs. Kim Wilson has been involved in Christian Education since 1995. Mrs. Wilson and her husband of 30 years have 3 married children and 4 grandchildren. She has various experience in other areas of the job force such as, cosmetology instructor, credit officer, and paraprofessional in the Council Bluffs School district.

Kathy Moore Office Staff
Mrs. Kathy Moore works in the office of Heartland Christian School. She has been involved with Christian Education for 15 years. Mrs. Moore and her husband of 31 years have 4 grown children and 9 grandchildren.

Betty Hurt Kindergarten Teacher
Mrs. Elizabeth Hurt joined the staff of Heartland Christian School in 2003. Prior to that she taught at Central Christian School in Omaha for many years. Mrs. Hurt was born and raised in Omaha and attended Mercy High School, Creighton University, and the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Mrs. Hurt received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and has taken several graduate courses. As an Air Force wife, she moved several times and was able to teach in Nevada and South Carolina. Mrs. Hurt is widowed and resides in Omaha near her three grown children and three grandchildren.

Shirley Rohrbaugh First / Second Grade Teacher
Mrs. Shirley Rohrbaugh received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Northwest Missouri State University in 1974 and her Master degree in Learning Disabilities from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1980. She began her teaching career in Missouri teaching kindergarten. Mrs. Rohrbaugh has also worked in the Council Bluffs School district as a special education teacher. She chose to stay home with her children for several years before resuming her teaching career. Prior to her involvement in Christian Schools, she served as a resource teacher for Nebraska ESU # 3 and taught for Louisville Public Schools. Mrs. Rohrbaugh began teaching at Loess Hills Christian School in 1994 and continued as a teacher for Heartland Christian School. She is married and has two grown children.

Beth Maynes Third / Fourth Grade Teacher
Mrs. Beth Maynes has taught since 1986 and has been involved in Christian Education since 1999. During her teaching career she has taught grades 2, 3, 4, and 5. Mrs. Maynes grew up in Greenfield, IA and received her teaching degree from Northwest Missouri State University. Mrs. Maynes and her husband have 2 children and reside in Treynor, IA. Christian Education has been an important calling in her life and she looks forward to where it will continue to lead her.

Roberta Schadde Fifth / Sixth Grade Teacher
Mrs. Roberta Schadde began teaching at Loess Hills Christian School in 1996 and has continued on to serve at Heartland Christian School. During her career she has taught 3rd and 4th grade prior to teaching 5th and 6th grades. Mrs. Schadde and her husband reside in Omaha. While working towards a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education at Buena Vista College, Mrs. Schadde worked at Iowa School for the Deaf. She has also worked with the Girl Scouts for 12 summers as Director of their Day Camp. Mrs. Schadde is thankful to God for allowing her the awesome experience of serving Him at Heartland Christian School.

Claudia Baker Elementary/Secondary Teacher
Mrs. Claudia Baker was originally born and raised in Pennsylvania. She has lived in the Omaha/Council Bluffs area since marriage in 1984. Mrs. Baker has a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She is currently in her ninth year of teaching in Christian Education. Mrs. Baker is the vocal and instrumental teacher for both the Elementary and Secondary students. She is also very gifted and teaches Art on the Secondary level. Mrs. Baker currently lives in MIssouri Valley, Iowa with her husband and four children.

Denise Aherns Secondary Teacher
Mrs. Aherns joined the Heartland Christian staff as a secondary Mathematics, Science, and Bible teacher in Spring of 2004. Mrs. Aherns has a diverse background in the environmental sciences and worked for 25 years in business and industry. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Georgetown College in 1977. Mrs. Aherns is an ordained minister and is a volunteer with Good News Jail and Prison Ministry. She has the privilege of ministering to incarcerated women at Sarpy and Pottawattamie Counties since 1993. Mrs. Aherns is an active lay minister and has spent many years teaching the Word of God.

Vince Baker Secondary Teacher
Mr. Vince Baker was born and raised in Reading, Pennsylvania. He is a 1981 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Applied Mathematics. Mr. Baker is married and has 4 children. He has served several churches at a children's and youth pastor and is very involved in praise and worship teams. Mr. Baker has experience in the banking and insurance fields, as well as 7+ years of experience in Christian education. Mr. Baker began teaching at Loess Hills Christian School and then joined Heartland Christian School after a brief time as assistant pastor in Shenandoah. He is currently full time at Heartland Christian School teaching math, Bible, and computer applications. He also serves as praise and worship leader at Victory Fellowship Church.

Larry Gray Secondary Teacher / Athletic Director
Mr. Larry Gray is from the St. Joseph, MO area. After graduating from Hosanna Christian School in 1989 Mr. Gray became licensed as a minister in 1993 and was ordained in 2000. He graduated from Equipping the Saints (Ministry School) in 2001 and began in Christian Education at Victory Christian School. Mr. Gray has been teaching in Christian Education for five years. Mr. Gray currently serves as the Heartland Christian School Athletic Director and teaches at the Secondary level. He is a certified coach in the State of Iowa and founded the Heart of America Christian Conference (HACC). Mr. Gray teaches Bible, Physical Education, and Mathematics. He is married and has 5 children. Mr. Gray also serves as the Missions Director for Victory Fellowship and has coordinated missions trips to Mexico for the last 5 years. The students of Heartland Christian School have benefited greatly from this opportunity to serve others.

Sandra Moores Secondary Teacher
Mrs. Sandra Moores was born and raised in Sidney, Iowa. She ahd her husband of 35 years have three children and five grandchildren. Mrs. Moores has been involved in Christian education since 1981, when she helped found Victory Bible Academy in Sidney, Iowa. She continued to teach K-12 at Victory Christian School until the Fall of 2006, when it closed. Mrs. Moores graduated from Buena Vista University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and has added a reading and Middle School endorsement. Mrs. Moores joined Heartland Christian School in 2006 and will be teaching Secondary English and Journalism.
